Need Some Warm Thoughts?

So, how tired of the snow are you? Are you wondering why you even left Texas in the first place? Well, at this moment I am! So, I thought I'd send out a little hope on such a blah day.

  1. The Schamburg Flyers baseball park has contacted me twice asking if we would all like to join them on June 11th at 7:05pm for their College Night. They are inviting alums from many different universities in and out of state. However, the woman who I have been speaking with has said that if June 11th doesn't work out for us they could arrange another night for Tech alums. We get special rates on admission if we have 25 or more guests (not necessarly alums). What I need to know is a.) are you interested in going to a game b.) Does June 11th (a Thursday) work for you or would you rather go on a Friday or Saturday (I pick Friday!)
  2. Are you a runner? If you like to run for fun or even for competition we have a race for you! We headed to Chicago on Saturday, June 13th to run in the Skirt Chaser 5k benefiting the MARKLUND foundation that serves infants, children and adults with severe and profound developmental disabilities. Those who require the most medical attention and medical monitoring have access to our exceptional care unit. Run a little (35 minutes if you run like me) and then head on over to what sounds like an amazing block party with all the runners. To learn more about this race visit http://www.skirtchaser5k.com/ Let me know if you intend on running in this. Maybe we can all ride down together!
  3. Other races under consideration...

July 4th Community Bank of Elmhurst 4 miles on the 4th which benefits the
Elmhurst Children's Assistance Foundation (ECAF) www.ecaf4kids.org

August 16th Joggin for the Noggin which benefits the Tug McGraw Foundation and the Brain Tumor Clinic at Duke University. http://www.jogginforthenoggin.com

September 27th One Small Voice 5K Run and Family Fun Walk which raises funds and awareness for pediatric research being conducted on Optic Nerve Hypoplasia and Hydrocephalus. The One Small Voice Foundation is a 501c3 organization and donates funds raised to Children’s Hospital Los Angeles and Children’s Memorial Hospital Chicago.

As soon as I get word on the Big XII diner cruise I'll be sending that out as well. If you have any ideas for outings and get togethers let me know!
